A little interview with James St. James about Freak Show, which I loved.
What do y'all think: Is it any easier to be a gay or transgender teen now than it was in the 80s?
Another thing this brought up for me is about reading GLBT teen lit. We have lots of it in my library, but I haven't seen any of it checked out yet. Are teens comfortable with doing that, do you think?

re: your last question
I haven't looked at the actual numbers, but my impression is that most of my GLBT books circulate as well, if not better, than a random sampling of other books in my collection (excluding Stephenie Meyer and J. K. Rowling).
Also, my teens generally don't ask about books (something I'm really trying to change), but I am occasionally asked if we have particular GLBT titles. I guess it really depends on your community.
Have you seen the movie Party Monster with Macualey Culkin? That is about James St. James. There is an interview with him at the end. Interesting.
Thanks for writing this.
