Book Giveaway!

Meg Cabot's awesome publicist sent me 5 copies of How to Be Popular (thanks, Rachel!). And I have decided to give one away in A True Reality's first ever blog giveaway!

You will love this book. The main character, Stephanie, is this adorable, klutzy girl who really wants to fit in with the in-crowd. She stumbles across an old book called How to Be Popular and uses it to aid her in her quest for popularity. This is just a really sweet, funny book. Also, there is a little of that boy-next-door romance going on, which you just have to love.

If you want a chance to win a copy of How to Be Popular by Meg Cabot, just tell us your favorite YA book and/or author along with why it/he/she is your favorite. On Friday, I will do a totally random drawing and announce the winner. I look forward to reading your responses!

I love Meg's books. But my favorite YA book I think has to be The Truth About Forever by Sarah Dessen. Merely because it was the only book I finished and then immediately began reading from the beginning right away, since I wasn't ready to let it go.

Oh man, this is hard. When I was actually a YA myself, I liked Christopher Pike and Caroline Cooney. As a teacher and adult, I liked the authors that really got the kids into reading...J.K. Rowling, Jerry Spinelli, Lois Lowry, Avi. My favorite YA book is far and away Tuck Everlasting, but I can't say that Natalie Babbitt is my favorite YA author. I guess I'll have to go with Jerry Spinelli. His books just have a way of reaching the kids. He knows how they think I guess. When I read Crash with my 6th graders, they were entranced...they loved it.

I like Sarah Dessen and Meg Cabot (I loved the Mediator series) too, but I really Really love Janette Rallison's books. They're great! They have humor (usually your main character's embarrasing moments) and good lessons on forgiveness/forgiving. I could really see myself in any of her characters' shoes...which is pretty funny in itself. Anyway, she's my most favorite...

I just enjoyed reading series when I was a young lad, but I have to admit I LOVED the Princess Diaries.

I think my favorite YA book would have to be the Jessica Darling series by Megan McCafferty, specifically, Sloppy Firsts!

hmmmm tough one....i suppose I'd have to go with The True Confessions of Charlote O'Doyle by Avi simply because it is my first memory of reading a "real" chapter book and being totally hooked. I got it for a b-day present from my bff in 3rd grade. Love the courageous/awkward-girl-type books:)

Ok, so I will admit that my favorite YA series was one called "SUMMER." I have no idea who wrote it, but I absolutely LOVED IT. I was such a sucker for teenage romance- especially summer romance.

My fave YA book would be The Goose Girl by Shannon Hale. I got drawn into her writing from the very beginning and it was a wonderful journey till the end! :) I hold it close to my heart and recommend it to anyone and everyone! Thanks for a cool book giveaway!

When I was a YA reader I loved, loved, loved Madeline L'Engle. I read every single book.

Now I really like the Stephanie Meyer vampire series (too cliche?).

My favorite YA book would have to be The Nanny Diaries by Emma Mclaughlin and Nicola Kraus. I read it before the movie came out and I absolutely loved it. The book is much better than the movie. But they usually are, aren't they? I loved this book because it was a lot of fun, kind of reminded me of myself at times and I wasn't able to put it down from beginning to end. I love Meg Cabot as well and I would love to read this book. Thank you hosting this giveaway.
